Experience:
Rick is a life-long Colorado resident. His professional experience of over 30 years includes serving as a Partner with a multi-office, 50 professional staff CPA Firm and Managing Partner of a local firm which he founded and developed into a 20 person organization. He joined ACM in January, 2012 with the merger of his Boulder firm.
Early in his career, Rick realized that client service should go beyond merely assisting with compliance issues. Businesses and individuals need assistance with charting a path towards financial and personal success in addition to dealing with tax and financial matters. He believes that losses coming from missed opportunities cannot be regained. Rick's philosophy is simple; make sure that opportunities are seen and capitalized upon. His consulting practice and its unique approach to planning and problem solving has helped literally thousands of clients achieve their goals.
Rick has been very active in his professional and community organizations over the years. Rick is a Past President of the Colorado Society of CPAs and has chaired and participated in many Society committees. He has also served on the Governing Council of the American Institute of CPAs.
In his community, he serves on the Board of Trustees for The Community Foundation of Boulder County and is a member of the Foundation's Executive Committee. He is a Past President of the Boulder Optimist Club, has served on the Accounting Advisory Board for the University of Colorado School of Business as well as a member of the University of Colorado National Alumni Association Board and its Executive Committee. He has also been instrumental in founding and assisting numerous local nonprofit organizations.
He is a recipient of the Alumni Recognition and Community Service awards from the University of Colorado and was recognized as Business Person of the Year by the Future Business Leaders of America.
He has authored business consulting articles that have been published in the Denver Business Journal, Boulder Business Journal and the Colorado Society of CPA's NewsAccount.
Rick and his wife Paula have two grown children and one grandson. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and enjoying the beauty of Colorado.
