M. JAMES COLLINS, CPA, Partner
Prior to becoming a founding partner of ACM in July 2002, Jim had a 33 year career with BDO Seidman, LLP, where he became a partner in 1979. Jim is The Director of ACM's Tax Department. He has a broad background in corporate, partnership and individual taxation and estate planning. Additionally, he has extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, from both a business and tax perspective. He regularly performs due diligence projects for several investment companies and other clients. Jim also acts as the International Liaison Partner and works closely with BDO's U.S. and Foreign International Tax Specialists in developing optimal tax structures for international business.
Jim's hallmark is his relationships with his clients. He believes in fostering long-term connections and he is regarded by his clients as a trusted advisor. Jim's civic involvement includes Financial Advisor to The Castle Pines North Metro District Volunteer Committee, where he successfully helped resolve The District's bankruptcy.
Jim has published articles in The Tax Advisor and CSCPA Journal and he has been an instructor for BDO Tax Training Courses.
